Redefining AI via the BIGINING framework

This paper argues that many mainstream AI definitions over-focus on practical task performance and under-specify three core issues: whether systems have self-awareness, where “initial intelligence” comes from without prior data (innateness), and whether systems can form autonomous intentions/goals.

It proposes a BIGINING definition of AI as the engineering of artificial consciousness by building a “synthetic innateness” that can develop toward integrated awareness, explicitly combining analytical (HBDI), vocational/behavioral (RIASEC), leadership/social direction (Personality Compass), and empirical behavioral data.
